Basics Of Applying

Who can apply?

Global Leadership Academy Charter School does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, nationality, creed, gender, ethnicity, mental or physical disability, proficiency in English, or prior academic achievement when recruiting or admitting students.

Kindergarten: Children applying for Kindergarten must be five years of age by September 1st of the current year in order to be accepted into the school. Parents may apply the following year for possible admission to the school.

First Grade: Children applying for First Grade must be six years of age by September 1st of the current year in order to be accepted into the school.  Parents may apply the following year for possible admission to the school.

When do I apply?
Applications are always accepted. However there is a waiting list. Students that are placed on the waiting list will be contacted if a space becomes available.

What happens after my child's name has been selected in the lottery process?
The lottery is held the 2nd Tuesday in March at the school.  Parents/guardians of accepted students will be notified in writing via email and requested to submit the following documents in order to complete and confirm enrollment:

1. Proof of student's age;

2. Proof of Philadelphia residency;

3. Immunization Records;

4. Parent Registration Statement (Section 1304-A Sworn Statement); and

5. Home Language Survey.

For more information about these documents which are required for enrollment, as well as additional documents that Global Leadership Academy Charter will request at the time of, but not require for, enrollment, please refer to the General Guidelines for the 2018-2019 Lottery Application and Enrollment Process.

In the event an opening occurs in any grade during the school year, the next child on the waiting list of that grade is contacted by telephone, mail or email.
