Visual Arts Program at GLA

The goal of the Visual Arts program at GLA is designed to reinforce and enhance the Global Studies Curriculum, while fostering each scholar’s self expression and creativity. Scholars are encouraged to celebrate diversity and understand similarities between the many cultures of the world through the arts.

All Scholars, in grades Kindergarten through 8th grade, learn to use different types of traditional and contemporary art making techniques, such as printmaking, ceramics, and painting. Scholars have the opportunity to use a variety of art materials and develop their own visual vocabulary of imagination, creativity, and self expression. Scholars will develop and improve art making skills/techniques through experimentation and practice with materials and techniques.
