My educational journey began over eleven years ago. Upon receiving my professional credentials as a Teach America corps member, I signed-on to become part of the Global Leadership Academy Charter School family. Since then, I’ve served in various capacities including classroom teacher, Academy Leader, Assistant Principal of Instruction, and now Principal.
While serving scholars in the classroom, I aimed to empower children to reach their fullest potential in all areas of academics and socio-emotional development. Scholars made significant gains on state-wide achievement tests and I was humbled to be awarded “Teacher of the Year” as well as a nomination for the Sue Lehmann Award for Excellence in Teaching. As school principal, I’m fortunate to lead a team of impassioned, dynamic, and dedicated educators -- all steadfast in their mission to cultivate self-reliant and forward-thinking Future Leaders of the World.
I believe every child, regardless of zip code or socioeconomic status, is inherently deserving of a high quality educational experience – one that is both academically rigorous and culturally relevant. Our schools deserve transformative leaders equally committed to building teacher capacity, developing scholar-centered systems and producing high-mark, sustainable results. Global Leadership Academy is my heart, plain and simple. With that being said, I do not take lightly the privilege to serve our scholars, parents and stake-holders. Under my leadership, I aim to ensure GLA remains a thriving, joyful and affirming environment where scholars are given the power to read another’s story and the desire to write their own.
